Ibrahim a.s was blessed with a son at the age of 86! Anyone that has struggled with infertility will tell you how long a time that is.Yet when he’s given the son , Allah SWT says sacrifice him! Run a knife on his throat! With your very hands! The very hands you used to make dua for this blessing, now use them to take a knife and run it across your لخت جگر

Only a parent can imagine the extent of this trial. Actually not even a parent can imagine it! Your mind just shuts down on imagining such a thing!

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَـٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ ١٠٦

That was truly a revealing test-Quran

So how does one come up with the strength to do such a thing?

Love!

The answer is love!

Parents can make the toughest choices! They can donate organs, immigrate to new continents, can brave living away from their own kids just to provide a better life and more! Simply cz of the extreme love they have for their children! Ibrahim a.s was able to do this, cz the greatest love in his heart was reserved for Allah SWT. Your heart should be with Allah SWT. Always! And if you have to give up something, it should be everything other than Him!
