Don’t take your Obedience for Granted- Dhul Hijjah Reflections VI

Ismail a.s said :-

يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُۖ سَتَجِدُنِيٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ

“O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.””

Lesson:- Never take your Obedience for granted! Never take the tawfeeq that He gave for granted! Even If you’re consistently doing some good today, don’t assume you’ll continue to have the tawfeeq to do it forever ! Look at Ismail (a.s) he’s saying you’ll find me of the sabireen IF ALLAH WILLS!

The same way Suleiman (a.s) said:-

— وما توفيقي الا بالله

The grandest kingdom that was ever given to any king, yet he said it’s from none other than Allah!

In other words, I’m nothing, it’s all Allah SWT! I have no tawfeeq if He stops to bestow it! If we remember our sins, the fact that He STILL grants us tawfeeq to do good, is just an evidence of His karam (His generosity:’)).

The tongue that backbites, is the same tongue that He in His infinite mercy ALLOWS to read His pure kalam!

The heart that holds grudges, is the SAME heart that HE allows in His infinite mercy to experience His Mohabbat!

YET despite this IJAZAT and mercy on the slave, when the slave stands for ibadah, does so half-heartedly or with thoughts of the world.

So show gratitude for the tawfeeq He gave and do astaghfar for not maximizing the tawfeeq. This will protect our ibadah,iA cz He says:

لئن شَكَرْتُمْ لَاَزِيْدَنَّكُمْ

If you’re grateful, I’ll give you more.

His promise holds true for tawfeeq as well!
